EVC Throttle Controller - EVC668
Rather than a traditional accelerator cable, many modern vehicles use 'fly by wire' throttle technology. This system relies on a sensor that measures the pedal pressure and position and sends a signal to the vehicle's engine computer which converts to acceleration. Many of these fly by wire systems have a noticeable delay. EVC allows tuning of the signal from the accelerator pedal with multiple inbuilt settings to ensure finding a setting that suits your driving style.

EVC includes an automatic control function that changes the level of throttle performance based on pedal pressure. So if you are in traffic and accelerating gently, the EVC will select setting 1. If you are accelerating hard to overtake, towing a heavy trailer, or just having fun, the EVC will select setting 9.
The result is smooth aftermarket control with reduced throttle lag and improved response from the vehicle’s fly-by-wire accelerator.
The Modes:
- Normal Mode: Replicates factory settings; essentially switches off EVC.
- Economy Mode (E): Nine settings reduce response from pedal; higher settings dampen throttle for increased fuel economy and better traction control in off-road situations.

< p > The EVC works equally well on both automatic and manual transmissions.There is an internal setting that changes voltage patterns to suit.A slightly softer setting compensates for direct drive nature of manual transmission.Manual transmission setting can also be used for vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions if driver feels response is too sensitive.< / p >

< p > Drivers can change through EVC modes at any time.It is recommended not changing settings while accelerator is depressed.Preferably change while stopped at traffic light or in traffic.< / p >

< p > Eco mode helps delay throttle response so driver can concentrate on slight corrections of steering wheel when reversing trailer.Higher ultimate modes are great for getting vehicle moving with extra weight, particularly handy towing uphill or from standing start.< / p >

If bogged in soft sand, slower wheel speed needed.Eco Mode's dampened throttle response can often unstick vehicle without recovery gear.
4wding:
Dampened Eco settings perfect across bouncy terrain.Prevents jerky acceleration from bouncing foot of driver.
