EVC Throttle Controller - EVC152

Rather than a traditional accelerator cable, many modern vehicles use 'fly by wire' throttle technology. This system relies on a sensor that measures the pedal pressure and position and sends a signal to the vehicle's engine computer which converts to acceleration. Many of these fly by wire systems have a noticeable delay. EVC allows tuning of the signal from the accelerator pedal with multiple inbuilt settings to ensure finding a setting that suits any driving style.

EVC includes an automatic control function that changes the level of throttle performance based on pedal pressure. So if in traffic and accelerating gently, EVC will select setting 1. If accelerating hard to overtake, towing a heavy trailer, or just having fun, EVC will select setting 9.

The Modes:

Normal Mode: Replication of factory settings; essentially switched off.
Economy Mode (E): Nine settings reduce response from the pedal; higher settings dampen throttle response for increased fuel economy and better traction control in off-road situations. < li > Ultimate Performance Mode: Nine settings grouped into three stages: < ul > < li > Ultimate mode 1-3: Everyday driving with smooth acceleration.< / li > < li > Ultimate mode 4-6: Sportier, more responsive acceleration for short bursts around town.< / li > < li > Ultimate mode 7-9: Instant throttle response for launch control.< / li >

Transmission Settings: The EVC works equally well on both automatic and manual transmissions.There is an internal setting that changes the voltage pattern to suit.A slightly softer setting compensates for direct drive nature of manual transmission.The manual transmission setting can also be used for vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions if driver feels response is too sensitive. Changing Settings: Drivers can change through EVC modes at any time.It is recommended not changing settings while accelerator is depressed.Preferably change while stopped at traffic light or in traffic. Towing: Eco mode helps delay throttle response so driver can concentrate on slight corrections of steering wheel when reversing trailer.Reduces over correction.Higher ultimate modes are great for getting vehicle moving with extra weight.Particularly handy towing uphill’s or from standing start. Sand: When bogged in soft sand slower wheel speed needed.Eco Mode’s dampened throttle response often unsticks vehicle without need for recovery gear. Four - Wheel Driving(Higher Eco Settings): Perfect across bouncy terrain.Dampened throttle prevents jerky acceleration from bouncing foot of driver. Mud(Higher Ultimate Performance Setting): Helps quick bursts accelerate out muddy holes.Flicks clogged mud tyres improving grip.
