Transmission Speed Sensor
Transmission speed sensors are essential components in a vehicle's transmission system. They perform a contactless scan of a gear or trigger wheel in the transmission and generate an electronic digital signal that is proportional to the speed of rotation.
There are two main types of speed sensors that work together to provide accurate transmission data to the vehicle's engine control module or transmission control unit. The first is the input shaft speed (ISS) sensor, also known as the primary sensor, which monitors the speed of the transmission's input shaft. The second is the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor, also known as the secondary sensor.
If either of these two sensors falls out of alignment or experiences electrical issues, it can significantly affect the operation of your vehicle's entire transmission system.
Key Features:
- Contactless scan technology for accurate readings
- Digital signal generation proportional to rotation speed
- Input shaft speed (ISS) sensor for monitoring input shaft
- Output shaft speed (OSS) sensor for monitoring output shaft
- Vital component for proper functioning of vehicle's transmission system
