Penrite 10-Tenths Engine Running In Oil 15W-40 — 5 Litre

A premium mineral, SAE 15W-40 running in oil formulated for the critical break-in period of new, re-manufactured, and crate engines, suitable for on-road, off-road, and dynamometer procedures.

  • Ultra-High Zinc Formula: Contains approximately 3,500 ppm zinc (HIGH ZINC) for maximum engine wear protection during the initial stages of engine use.
  • Non-Friction Modified: Allows the running-in process to complete fully without interference, ensuring piston rings bed in correctly with cylinder walls.
  • Prevents Bore Glazing: Protects engine cylinder bores from glazing and allows correct seating of piston rings against cylinder walls.
  • Valve Train Protection: High zinc formulation protects camshafts, followers, rockers, and pushrods throughout the run-in period.
  • Low Detergent & Dispersant: Deliberately low levels to support the running-in process without interfering with ring and bore bedding.
  • Multigrade Viscosity: SAE 15W-40 viscosity covers a wide temperature range and is suitable where 15W-40, 20W-40, 20W-50, or SAE 30 is specified.
  • Broad Engine Compatibility: Suitable for most 4, 6 & 8+ cylinder engines including multi-cam, multi-valve, VVT, naturally aspirated, supercharged, turbocharged, and light-duty diesel engines, as well as four-stroke motorcycles with wet clutches.
  • Fuel Compatibility: Compatible with petrol, LPG, E10, diesel, and other conventional fuels.
  • Recommended Run-In Procedure (On-Road): Use for approximately 500 km at varied speeds, avoiding full throttle. Change oil and filter after initial 500 km.
  • Recommended Run-In Procedure (Dynamometer): Run engine for approximately 30 minutes at 2,000–2,500 RPM to seat rings and camshaft, then change oil and filter.
  • Made in Australia by Penrite, part of the 10-Tenths Racing range.

For flat tappet camshaft lifters, Penrite recommends Running In Oil 20W-50. After completing the run-in period, Penrite also recommends using Penrite Engine Flush prior to refilling with your regular engine oil.
