PAT AFM-333 Air Mass Meter: Your Reliable Mass Air Flow Sensor

Ensuring the optimal functioning of your engine management system, the PAT AFM-333 Air Mass Meter is a crucial component. Positioned between your air filter and throttle body, this Mass Air Flow Sensor measures incoming air and often incorporates the Intake Air Temperature Sensor (ATS). The data it gathers assists your engine's ECU in achieving the correct fuel mix, ignition timing, and sometimes even transmission shifting.

Key Features:

  • Includes a tiny, electrically heated wire for precise airflow measurement.
  • Can detect and adjust to changes in airflow volume.
  • Helps maintain optimal engine performance by providing accurate data to the ECU.
  • Can indicate potential issues through warning codes on your dashboard.

Potential Issues:

A faulty Mass Air Flow Sensor can lead to a range of issues, including rough idle, sluggish performance, black exhaust smoke, and poor fuel economy. The most common issue is contamination of the hot wire by dust, dirt, or oil, which can interfere with accurate airflow readings. While newer models are designed to minimise this problem, they are not completely immune. Oily aftermarket air filters are a common source of contamination.

Diagnosing the Problem:

Use the appropriate scan tool or oscilloscope to check the sensor's signal and compare it to your vehicle's specifications. Warning codes on your dashboard can also indicate a problem. Be aware of codes starting with P0068, P0100, P0101, P0102, P0103, P0104. Basic issues such as intake leaks or faulty wiring can also affect the Mass Air Flow Sensor.

Packaging note: PAT products may be supplied in PAT Premium packaging instead of the manufacturer's original box.

PAT sources EFI and engine-management parts from established OE-type manufacturers and repackages some of them in Australia. The manufacturer inside can change between batches as supply changes — for example, a part once made by Hitachi may now come from Bosch. Every unit is an OE-type part from a recognised manufacturer.

Packaging: Manufacturers periodically update their packaging and labelling. You may receive the current or a previous design — the product, formulation and part number are unchanged.

Fitment (vehicle-specific products): Vehicle fitment is based on manufacturer and supplier catalogue data and is kept as accurate as possible, but vehicle catalogues are not perfect. Some models had more than one part fitted depending on build date, engine, or component size/variant, and parts on older vehicles may have been replaced with non-original or different-style components.

Before you buy, compare the product images with the part currently fitted to your vehicle — check shape, size, connectors and mounting points. If the part on your vehicle looks different, please contact us before purchasing. It is the buyer's responsibility to confirm the part suits their vehicle before purchasing.

Not sure? Message us with your vehicle's registration number and state (preferred), or full VIN/build details, and we'll do our best to confirm fitment before you buy.

Parts returned because they do not suit the vehicle, where the listing matches the manufacturer's catalogue, are treated as a change of mind and must be unused, uninstalled and in original packaging. Nothing in this notice affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
