Wesfil Cooper automatic transmission filter kit WCTK128, supplied as a kit so the parts disturbed during a transmission service are renewed together.
Automatic transmission fluid carries wear debris — clutch material, metal particles and varnish — away from the gearsets and the valve body. The filter is what holds that debris. As it loads up, fluid flow to the pump and the valve body falls away, and the symptoms show up as delayed or harsh shifts long before the transmission fails outright. The filter is replaced with the fluid because putting fresh fluid through a loaded filter wastes the service.
What the kit is for
Wesfil supply the filter as a kit so the parts disturbed during the job are renewed together. Depending on the application the kit contains the transmission filter and, where the application uses one, the replacement pan gasket along with any seals or related items needed to complete the job.

Kit contents vary by application. Check the listing for what this kit includes; some applications use RTV silicone sealant instead of a pan gasket, which is not supplied. Wesfil recommend their products be installed by qualified persons.
