Goss Oil Pressure Switch OS0009
An oil pressure switch or sensor is designed to assess the integrity of an engine's lubrication system. The switch responds to any changes in engine oil pressure, and any fault is displayed via illumination of the oil pressure light in the dash.
- Monitors correct levels of oil pressure
- Mounted to the engine block or filter housing
- Connected directly to the dash cluster
- Indicates changes or alerts the ECU when incorrect oil pressure is noticed
- Prevents low oil levels which can be problematic for the engine
- Symptoms of a faulty oil pressure switch include:
- Oil pressure light comes on
- Oil pressure light inoperative
- Oil pressure light flickers
- Designed to meet original equipment manufacturer's specifications
- Ensure correct fitment by checking the vehicle compatibility list and reading any associated notes
