KYB Front Strut Mount (1 Side) — KSM7103

The KYB KSM7103 is a front suspension mounting kit, supplied individually. The upper strut mount is the link between the shock absorber and the body of the car. It carries the weight of the vehicle, and on the front it is also the pivot the steering turns on.

What the kit is for

KYB supply the mounting kit so the parts around the strut are renewed with it. The kit contains the components needed for that application — typically the strut mount, the bearing, the mounting plate and the mounting nuts and bolts.

Why replace the mount with the strut

KYB recommend replacing the upper strut mount and bearing each time the strut is replaced. A worn mount left in place works against the new strut, and replacing them together:

  • Makes steering easier, smoother and more precise.
  • Reduces vibration and noise.
  • Improves road handling.
  • Improves wheel alignment.
  • Increases shock absorber life, so the new strut lasts longer.
  • Position on vehicle: Front

When to replace

Each time the shock absorbers are replaced, or when the steering has become hard or noisy.

About KYB

KYB is one of the world's largest manufacturers of shock absorbers, supplying around 50 million original equipment shocks a year to vehicle manufacturers. Around one in five passenger and light commercial vehicles worldwide leaves the factory fitted with KYB.

Before ordering

Check the part number and the position on the vehicle against your application before ordering. Kit contents vary by application. Strut mounts wear at the same rate on both sides, so they are normally replaced in pairs across an axle.

Packaging: Manufacturers periodically update their packaging and labelling. You may receive the current or a previous design — the product, formulation and part number are unchanged.

Fitment (vehicle-specific products): Vehicle fitment is based on manufacturer and supplier catalogue data and is kept as accurate as possible, but vehicle catalogues are not perfect. Some models had more than one part fitted depending on build date, engine, or component size/variant, and parts on older vehicles may have been replaced with non-original or different-style components.

Before you buy, compare the product images with the part currently fitted to your vehicle — check shape, size, connectors and mounting points. If the part on your vehicle looks different, please contact us before purchasing. It is the buyer's responsibility to confirm the part suits their vehicle before purchasing.

Not sure? Message us with your vehicle's registration number and state (preferred), or full VIN/build details, and we'll do our best to confirm fitment before you buy.

Parts returned because they do not suit the vehicle, where the listing matches the manufacturer's catalogue, are treated as a change of mind and must be unused, uninstalled and in original packaging. Nothing in this notice affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
