Ezilift Tailgate Gas Strut — EZ3170

The Ezilift EZ3170 is a replacement tailgate gas strut. A gas strut is what holds a tailgate up and lets it down under control. They fail gradually rather than suddenly — the panel starts to sag, then needs a hand to hold it, and eventually will not stay up at all. Safety: Do not use a prop stick. One gas strut will not support the weight on its own — have a second person support the panel while the struts are off the vehicle.
