- The expansion tank is an essential component of the cooling system, always under pressure.
- Pressure cap is located on the expansion tank, not on the radiator itself.
- Expansion tank is positioned at the highest point in the cooling system.
- Coolant is continuously cycled through the tank.
- Hot coolant releases pressure, filling the top half of the tank.
- Pressure acts as a force to push the coolant back into the system.
- Tanks can become discoloured, brittle, contaminated with sludge, or even break.
- Immediate replacement is required for effective operation of the cooling system.
- Dayco Expansion Tanks are made to OE specifications.
- Make/model specific for compatibility.
