- The expansion tank is an essential component of the cooling system.
- It is always under pressure and is responsible for releasing pressure from the hot coolant.
- The pressure cap is located on the expansion tank itself, not on the radiator.
- Designed to be at the highest point in the cooling system, the expansion tank allows for continuous cycling of coolant.
- The hot coolant fills the top half of the tank, creating a force that pushes the coolant back into the system.
- Over time, expansion tanks can become discoloured, brittle, contaminated with sludge, or even break.
- Immediate replacement is necessary to ensure the cooling system operates effectively.
- Dayco Expansion Tanks are manufactured to OE specifications.
- They are specifically designed for make and model compatibility.
- Comes with a 2-year warranty or 40,000km, whichever comes first.
