The Dayco APV2464 Automatic Belt Tensioner is designed to maintain constant tension on serpentine belt drives, incorporating a spring-loaded mechanism into the drive system geometry to preserve proper tension throughout operation.
- Patented flat spring design minimises variation in tension across the operating range
- Reduces the risk of premature accessory bearing failure caused by excessive tension when a new belt is fitted
- Lessens belt squeal, slippage and poor accessory performance caused by low tension as belts stretch and wear
- Teflon® strip wound within the spring resists abrasion
- Coated flat spring resists rust
- Heavy-duty cast aluminium spring case resists cracking and fatigue
- Heavy-duty cast aluminium arm offers additional strength and reduced distortion
- Aluminium retainer ring locks the spring case and arm together, sealing against corrosion
- Steel locator pin and pivot tube (where applicable) for additional strength
- Thermoplastic rubber spring slot plug keeps out contaminants
- Lubricated nylon pivot tube bushing and spring bushing for quieter performance
